Gillbod: Sorry to hear of your botched operation. If you're talking about the 28mm 2.5, it won't get nearly as much, but still worth putting back in use. If you're not going to use it, you'll get >$100 on ebay. Shearwater: If that is a 90mm Macro, you might want to consider breaking it out again. I think in the future I will look more for Nikon mount lenses for an easier time converting to Sony. The Vivitar 90mm 2.5 Macro gets very high marks from everywhere I've read about it. Unfortunately, the adapter implies that i will have two items to convert. ![]() I prefer to cost average the two lenses to make myself feel better. I just today picked up a Series 1 90mm 2.5 Macro with adapter for 1:1 for $100. Not much at risk there and the lens promises to be excellent. While not a Series 1, I have purchased a Vivitar 28mm 2.8 Close Focus lens for. I'm putting a lot of confidence in this modification by lining up several lenses without actually having gone though the experience. #Vivitar lens mount to sony registration#Ideaaly, I would have preferred to find lenses that had longer registration distances, but it seemed only the Minolta mounts were available at reasonable prices. I've purchase a couple of Vivitar lenses with the intent of converting the mounts from Minolta to Sony. My first conversion will be my 50mm 1.4 Rokkor.īack to Series 1. I studied Pete Ganzel's excellent conversion and am impressed that it will work, hopefully, on most Minolta mount lenses. I'm lining up a few lenses to do mount conversions to Sony. There is one disclaimer as I understand it - the later lenses were not as good after Vivitar had begun to go through changes. However, I have read that some of these lenses were very highly regarded both then and now. ![]() I haven't seen much talk about the Vivitar Series 1 lenses of decades past. ![]()
